Construction on the City of Richardson’s new City Hall has reached a new milestone as the first pieces of structural steel were installed Monday, Sept. 8. The steel columns are located on the northeast side of the three-story part of the building.

Additionally, a three-story concrete masonry unit staircase was constructed in mid-August and can be seen from Arapaho Road. The staircase is located on the northeast side of the building and is needed to tie into the structural steel on the north side or the building, which is the first sequence of steel to be installed. The council chamber on the building’s west side will be the last sequence of steel to be installed.

Construction on City Hall began in March 2025 and is on schedule for an early 2027 completion. For more information on the project, including renderings and timelapse video of construction. visit www.cor.net/NewCityHall.
