Head southeast about 40 minutes from Richardson for an early morning walk at the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center, located in the middle of the North Texas Municipal Water District’s (NTMWD) 2,000-acre East Fork Wetland Project. The project provides a unique, natural process that helps purify Richardson’s water supply (and that of other NTMWD member cities) while at the same time creating wildlife habitat and enhancing the environment. In this beginner-to-intermediate “walking class” led by a master birder, you’ll learn about the birds that live at the wetland, how to use binoculars and field guides and how to identify birds.
Suitable for ages 10 and up. Binoculars are available for loan.
