The first of nine playground renovation projects approved in the 2021 bond election was officially marked as completed and open this week.
Woodhaven Grove Park Playground, located at 713 S. Grove Rd., was under construction over the past several weeks with installation of new equipment and accessibility upgrades to ramps and walkways. Three more playgrounds are scheduled to be renovated in 2023. They are:
- Mark Twain Park, 1238 Larkspur Dr.
- Terrace Park, 200 N. Lois Ln.
- Berkner Park, 1800 E. Spring Valley Rd.
Richardson park playgrounds are renovated or replaced every 15-20 years as funding becomes available.
