The annual Dog Splash Day is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 18. An incorrect date was published in the August edition of Richardson Today.
The event will take place from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at Terrace Pool, 300 N. Lois Ln. Cost of admission is $5 per dog and $2 per human.
Dog Splash Day began in 2009 as a fundraiser for the Richardson Animal Shelter. Furry Friends of Richardson, a nonprofit that supports the Richardson Animal Shelter, took over management of the event in 2023. Funds raised through events such as Dog Splash Day have been used to provide a number of things to the Shelter over the years including the Mobile Pet Adoption Trailer, which debuted in 2017.
