Passengers travelling in Dallas’ Central Business District via DART may experience delays over the weekends of May 3-6 and May 10-13 as necessary maintenance is performed on DART Rail’s high-voltage power source—or catenary—via a process known as “re-tensioning.”
This repair work is scheduled to take place on consecutive weekends, in 54-hour shifts, allowing one track to remain open between 9 p.m. on Friday, May 3, and 3 a.m. on Monday, May 6, and again on Friday, May 10, until Monday, May 13. DART will operate a single train in both directions, serving all stations between Pearl/Arts District and West End.
While the re-tensioning is taking place, three shuttle bus routes will replace the rail lines at the following stations. NOTE: Shuttles will operate from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. on Fridays, 3 a.m.-2 a.m. Saturdays & Sundays on affected weekends with normal rail service scheduled to resume at 3 a.m. on Monday mornings; closures could be postponed to contingency or alternate weekends due to weather.
