The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Board of Directors has unanimously approved the DARTzoom Final Bus Network Plan, which includes a complete redesign of DART’s bus network. The redesigned network goes into effect Jan. 24, 2022, with the goal of providing greater frequency, longer service hours and improved access to destinations.
Highlights include:
- Addition of two GoLink Zones in Central Richardson and the Telecom Area due to the discontinuation of Route 361 and 841
- Belt Line Route will be modified to service City Hall Campus.
- Addition of a cross-town route through UTD, Route 75 (Frankfort, Waterview, Synergy, Renner)
What are DART GoLink Zones?
Some bus routes with historically low ridership will be removed from service, and those areas will be provided service through new and/or expanded GoLink Zones. Riders can schedule point to point rides within their zone or be taken to a transit center where they may continue their travel through the DART network. DART expects this on-demand service to provide transportation to riders within 15-minutes of scheduling their ride itinerary.
DART worked with employers, community leaders and transit riders in all 13 of its service area cities (including Richardson) for more than a year in developing the new system.
