Ground clearing and utility work has begun at the University of Texas Dallas Synergy Park station; the future site of the DART Silver Line light rail stop. Construction teams will begin drilling piers for the platform through this week. Installation of electrical and plumbing conduit for platform will begin next week.

The station is part of the 26-mile Silver Line project, which extends between DFW Airport and Shiloh Road in Plano. The alignment will cross through seven cities including Richardson, providing passenger rail connections and service that will improve mobility, accessibility and system linkages to major employment, population, and activity centers in the northern part of the DART Service Area.

The Silver Line would interface with three DART light rail train lines: The Red/Orange Lines in Richardson/Plano and the Green Line in Carrollton and the Orange Line at DFW Airport. In addition, at the DFW Airport, the Silver Line would connect to the Fort Worth Transportation Authority TEXRail Regional Rail Line to Fort Worth.

Later this month on July 27 at 6 p.m., DART will be hosting a virtual community meeting to review the progress of the regional rail project. DART and the design-build contractor will be outlining the latest design and construction developments and answer questions. Visit www.dart.org/SilverLine for more information.
