Every year, dozens of DFW-area companies come together to participate in the Richardson Corporate Challenge. This year, the 10-week Olympic-style competition is celebrating 26 years and will kick off Friday, Aug. 9 at 5:30 p.m. with an opening ceremony. People traveling near Huffhines Park during this time can expect to see more traffic in the area.
The event promotes teamwork, company pride and corporate wellness through healthy competition. The participating companies are split into divisions and compete in more than two dozen different events ranging from softball to volleyball and billiards to golf. These games take place during the week after normal business hours and on the weekends.
Corporate Challenge raises funds for Special Olympics Texas. Since 1998, participating companies have raised more than $3.25 million for Special Olympics Texas.
