RICHARDSON – The Richardson Animal Shelter is over capacity due in part to two recent cases of cat hoarding.

A total of 15 cats were brought into the shelter which has caused a significant impact on the facility including a need for more food and supplies, kennels and cages, and volunteers to help clean and make sure all shelter animals are happy and healthy.

“People can help us by considering becoming fosters for the shelter, taking in some of these cats that may need some socializing, or medicine. Taking these animals in will help make sure they are not taking up limited space,” said Noura Jammal, Richardson Animal Services Manager.

People may also consider finding these pets forever homes this holiday season by visiting the Richardson Animal Shelter, which is open 7 days a week and no appointments are needed to view and visit our animals.
