Nominations are open for the 2026 Community Revitalization Awards, which recognize residential and commercial property owners who have enhanced the community through significant property improvements. 

Eligible projects include: 

  • Dramatic improvements to properties or structures  
  • An exemplary level of exterior refurbishment  
  • Total redevelopment of a property or structure, such as a teardown and rebuild  
  • Infill or new development on a vacant parcel in an older neighborhood or district  

Anyone may submit a nomination, including the property owner. Nominations are due by 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. 

The Richardson City Council created the awards in 1994. Since then, more than 350 properties have been recognized.
