Contractors wrapped a traffic signal box in colorful artwork Thursday, a result of the City’s inaugural Traffic Signal Box Art Contest held earlier this year in partnership with the Richardson Kiwanis Club. The signal box, located at the intersection of Yale Boulevard and Apollo Road, is the first of five in Richardson slated for the vinyl, artistic wraps, each depicting a winning wildflower-themed work of art.

The contest was open to individual artists residing in the city or attending a school located in Richardson, and winners were determined based on creativity, adherence to the theme and artistic merit. The winning artists will be recognized at a future City Council meeting.
