Staff from Catalyst Urban Development were on hand at Monday’s City Council meeting to present the City with the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) 2026 Innovation in Development Practice Award, which was received by Catalyst in April for the Belt + Main Development. The presentation recognized the City’s partnership in bringing the mixed-used development to life in The CORE District and its commitment to reinvest in and reinvigorate this historic area of Richardson.
Opened in spring 2025, Belt + Main is the first major mixed-use residential and retail development in The CORE District—part of Richardson’s original retail destination, which includes five distinct neighborhoods: Chinatown, Downtown, Heights, Interurban and Lockwood, all home to local dining, retail and community events.
ULI recognition is especially significant as it reflects industry-leading standards in design, innovation and long-term community impact, evaluated by experts in real estate and urban development.
