RICHARDSON – The City of Richardson is making a few changes to the way services is provided to the community to help in the fight against COVID-19.

Starting this week, visitors coming into Richardson City Hall will be directed to the new Customer Service Center located in the Grand Hall. This will be the place people can get assistance with a variety of city services from building inspection, community services and health to development services, capital projects, transportation and mobility and parks and recreation. The center allows for enhanced social distancing.

Until further notice, all Richardson Civic Center events are canceled. The green gallery at the Eisemann Center is closed, but customer service is available via telephone or online.  The Animal Shelter is running with modified services and operating by appointments only. The Richardson Public Library is also operating with modified services. The lobby at the Richardson Municipal Court building is closed, but customer service via telephone or online is available. Parks and Recreation facilities are closed, but public art and trails are still accessible. Sherrill Park Golf Course is operating with modified services and there is a big change to trash and recycling services.

“Effective this Thursday, April 9 we will only be providing residential trash service once a week and this is a temporary strategy. Trash collection will now be occurring on the residents designated recycling/BABIC day so, if you are on the southwest part, your trash collection will be on Monday. If you are up in the Greenwood Hills, Canyon Creek area your trash collection will be on Tuesday and so on,” said Don Magner, deputy City Mananger.
