The Richardson Rotary Club recognized four City of Richardson employees at its December luncheon. Annual awards have been given by the Club since 1992 to recognize City employees who made significant contributions during the past year.

The Employee of the Year is Gracie Jones, Human Resources Compensation/HRIS Administrator. Jones has been with the City since 2021.

The Supervisor of the Year is Chris Rasbury, Assistant Parks Superintendent in the Parks and Recreation Department. Rasbury has been with the City for 22 years after starting as a part-time employee (see article below for more information about him and another award he recently won).

For the first time, the Rotary Club recognized a Police Officer of the Year and Firefighter of the Year. This year’s Police Officer of the Year is Nicholas Perez, who joined the Richardson Police Department in 2018. The Firefighter of the Year is Eddie Valenzuela, who serves as the Richardson Fire Department’s EMS Education Coordinator and has been with the Department for 24 years.
