RICHARDSON – Packets of information for people interested in serving on the Richardson City Council are now available for the upcoming election on May 1.

The election packets for prospective candidates for Mayor and Places 1 through 6 will be available beginning Jan. 4. The packets include details on candidate qualifications, filing a petition and an application, conducting a campaign and the election process in general.

The Richardson City Council election is held every two years.

Election packets may be picked up in person but you must contact the City Secretary’s Office at 972-744-4290 or via e-mail at aimee.nemer@cor.gov in advance to schedule a pickup time. Packets will also be available electronically upon request.

The first day to file an application for a place on the ballot is Wednesday, Jan. 13 and the last day is Friday, Feb. 12 by 5 p.m.

  • First day of early voting                Monday, April 19
  • Last day of early voting                Tuesday, April 27
