The City Council has approved two zoning requests concerning additional structures/spaces at the Richardson Restaurant Park. The plans include a Dave’s Hot Chicken location with a full-service drive-thru lane; additional buildings on the north side of the property will house Eiland Coffee Roasters in a two-story restaurant with a full-service drive-thru and an adjacent coffee roasting warehouse.
The Council approved a zoning change in December that allowed for the Restaurant Park’s developer to build additional restaurants with prepaid order pickup windows, but future Council action was needed if full-service drive-thrus were desired. After such a plan revision was denied by the City Council in July, the new, revised plans approved Monday are seen as more pedestrian- and traffic-friendly.
The updated proposal also includes a 16,000-square-foot outdoor dining and entertainment plaza, which will include picnic tables, a firepit with seating, cabanas, space for live music and movie screenings, and a game court.
