The community is invited to join the Richardson Symphony Orchestra (RSO) this weekend at the Eisemann Center for a multimedia performance and art installation inspired by the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing.

The concert is called Celestial Celebration: Music, Art, and Technology and starts 8 p.m. Sat. Sept. 7.

The show features nine video pieces created by the School of Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communications (ATEC) at UT Dallas.  The videos incorporate data visualizations of astrophysical phenomena.

“The Symphony Orchestra is part of the community, it’s through education and entertainment that we bring people together,” said Clay Couturiaux, music director.

RSO is an 85-musician orchestra that includes a large strings section, two harpists, two timpanists, plus expanded woodwind, brass, and percussion sections.

Celestial Celebration is made possible by the generous support of Ann and Charles Eisemann through their Arts Innovation Initiative.
