City Council Joins Salvation Army “Red Kettle Challenge” 

The City Council has established a “Virtual Red Kettle” where the community can make digital donations to assist in providing food and shelter for those in need. The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign involves volunteers ringing bells and collecting donations in red kettles outside of stores during the holiday season. The funds raised are used to support various community programs and services provided by The Salvation Army.

Sherrill Park Course #1 Named to “Best of” Public Golf Lists 

Avid Golfer magazine has named the City of Richardson’s Sherrill Park Course #1 to its 2023 Best of Public Golf lists, deeming it among the eight top “Luxury” public courses in the Metroplex and awarding it a sixth place overall among the eastern DFW area’s 42 public golf courses. Magazine staff referred to the course as a “solid track for those in the Big D” and praised Sherrill Park Pro Ronny Glanton for “running a top-notch facility that is inclusive not only to the seasoned player, but juniors and those just getting the golf bug.”

Robotics Team Recognized with Proclamation 

Richardson-based youth robotics team Marvels of Mas, part of the Muslim American Society’s (MAS) First Lego League teams, gave a demonstration at Monday’s City Council meeting and was recognized with a proclamation.
