Mayor Pro Tem Selected 

Newly re-elected City Council Member Arefin Shamsul has been chosen by his peers on the Richardson City Council to serve as Mayor Pro Tem for the 2023-25 City Council term. The vote took place at the May 22 City Council meeting. Shamsul represents Place 6 and has served on the City Council’s Education Committee and Retail Committee.

Wildflower! Cleanup Completed 

Crews worked daily this week to clean streets and plazas at Galatyn Park Urban Center and take down tents, stages and all the rest of the apparatus that shaped the City’s successful Wildflower! Arts & Music festival last weekend. All streets have been reopened to regular traffic.

Art Guitar Auction Benefits Network/RISD Fine Arts 

The numbers are in—the Texas Counter Fitters WF! Art Guitar Auction held at Richardson’s 2023 Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival netted $11,375 for local nonprofits Network of Community Ministries and RISD Fine Arts, after the winning bids were tallied last Sunday.
