The application period for the 2026 Citizens Academy and Resource Education Series (Richardson CARES) opened Monday and runs through Friday, July 31. The free, eight-week series is offered to adults ages 18 and up and provides participants the opportunity to meet City staff, learn about the day-to-day operations of Richardson’s municipal government.     

Registration is now open for vendors wishing to participate in the Senior Center’s annual Holiday Bazaar scheduled for Nov. 6-7. Eligible vendors are artists/crafters age 18 or older, and all items must be handmade by the seller.    

In four phases, the bike lanes, right lanes and left lanes of northbound and southbound Waterview Parkway between Campbell Road and Renner Road may be closed to traffic alternately for concrete replacement/rehabilitation work. Work will begin on the northbound lanes before moving to the southbound lanes. The work is expected to be complete by late August. 

The left lanes of eastbound and westbound Belt Line Road extended 170 feet east and west of Plano Road may be closed to traffic during non-peak hours (from 9 a.m-3:30 p.m.) for utility work related to the relocation of a streetlight. The work is expected to be complete by mid-August.
