“Clear the Shelters,” an adoption and donation event held at the Animal Shelter last month in conjunction with the national “Clear the Shelters” campaign, saw a total of 132 pets find forever homes during August, including 52 Aug. 21-31 when adoption fees were waived (41 percent of the entire month’s adoptions).

Construction has begun on the West Prairie Creek Drive Rehabilitation Project located between Campbell Road and Collins Boulevard.

September is National Preparedness Month, and while preparedness is an ongoing effort, it’s an excellent time to encourage readiness and make emergency plans.

Gas line repair may close the left and center lanes of eastbound Renner Road between Plano Road and Foxboro Drive and also the outside left turn lane of southbound Plano Road onto eastbound Renner Road from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. The work is expected to be complete by mid-October.
