Traffic Signal Box Art Winners Announced 

The five winners of the City’s fifth annual Traffic Signal Box Art Contest were recognized at Monday’s City Council meeting. Each received $200 ($100 from the City and $100 from the Richardson Rotary Club) and a certificate, and their artwork will be turned into vinyl wraps that will be installed on traffic signal boxes at key Richardson intersections. The art can also be viewed online and in the July issue of Richardson Today. The theme for this year’s contest was “Community.”

Lane Closures to Ease on Renner Road as Large Valve Replacement Project Wraps Up

The Renner Road at Wyndham Lane Large Valve Replacement Project is scheduled to be completed by the end of next week. The project required ongoing lane closures in the eastbound lanes of Renner Road just west of Wyndham Lane while crews replaced a 24-inch water valve. The replacement is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to maintain and upgrade water system infrastructure and helps improve reliability by allowing crews to better control water flow and isolate sections of waterline during future maintenance, repairs or emergencies.

Lane Closures, Detours Expected at Arapaho Road/Newberry Drive Area 

The right lane of eastbound Arapaho Road between Crestview Drive and Newberry Drive may be closed to traffic from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. as a water valve is replaced followed by street panel work. In addition, for the same project, Newberry Drive at Arapaho Road may be fully closed to traffic and detoured to West Shore Drive and Waterview Drive at all times. The work is expected to be completed by late June.
