    The Center for U.S.-Latin America Initiatives and the School of Arts and Humanities present the first UT Dallas Latin American Dance Festival, an evening of multicultural dance and folkloric exchange. The event features the Ollimpaxqui Ballet Company of Dallas and international guests Ana Gloria Zabaleta and Narahí Antonio Aizprúa Martínez, both of Panama.

    6 p.m. in the Erik Jonsson Academic Center, JO 4.122. Admission is free.
    In conjunction with Dallas’ Hay Festival Forum, UT Dallas’ Center for Translation Studies hosts the noted Mexican poet and essayist and his Houston-based translator John Pluecker for a reading and discussion.
