    The One O’Clock Lab Band is the premier performing ensemble of the UNT jazz studies program. With seven Grammy Award nominations (one or more per decade since the 1970s) from a library of over 80 critically acclaimed recordings to date, the One O’Clock is noted for its exceptional individual musicianship and tight ensemble performance.

    The Dallas Hua Yun Chinese Orchestra will be presenting an enchanting exploration of the classic Chinese novel, Dream of the Red Mansion at its annual free concert. In addition to repertoire pieces and solos, the orchestra will feature compositions by the celebrated Wang Liping, from the renowned 1987 television adaptation. This performance will weave the tales of romance and melancholy into a rich auditory experience. Come experience a mesmerizing journey through one of China’s most cherished literary works, brought to life in sound!

    Each year the Association International du Film d’Animation celebrates the birth of animation, recognized as the first public performance of projected moving images: Émile Reynaud’s Theatre Optique in Paris, in 1892. This year, our in-person screening on campus will showcase a selection of the Best Short Animations awarded at the 2023 Annecy International Animation Festival. Wednesday will feature the Best Short Animations from the Annecy International Animation Festival 2023 (not appropriate for children) and Thursday will feature the Best Short Animations for KIDS from the Annecy International Animation Festival 2023.
