• “First Friday” Free Reception Kicks Off Art Exhibit Tonight

    The public is invited to a free reception celebrating the gallery’s newest exhibit, “Circular Sightings and the Hum of Humanity,” featuring the work of Dallas-based artist Hugh DeWitte. DeWitte resides near the High Five interchange, one of the tallest highway overpasses in the world, which served as the inspiration for his most recent works and the exhibition. 

    Additional opportunities to view the exhibit: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and during all public events, through Nov. 26.

    The Richardson Symphony Orchestra celebrates America’s beauty and heritage with compositions written by Bernstein, Copland and Dvořák. This tribute features a multimedia collaboration with Nicholas Bardonnay of Westwater Arts—live classical music paired with coordinating imagery that embodies the American spirit as it celebrates the history and majesty of the nation.

    The Richardson Community Band presents, “Something Old, Something New,” an exploration of the “old/new/borrowed/blue” song spectrum, from Neil Diamond to Taylor Swift. The concert will feature renowned teacher/performer/arranger Buddy Mattei, as the band “borrows” one of his latest arrangements.
