The Richardson East Rotary Foundation is coordinating a series of upcoming spirit nights at local restaurants to raise funds for the construction of a pavilion at the City’s Ann Eisemann Inclusive Playground at Cottonwood Park.

Applications are now open for the 2026 Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival’s Budding Talent Vocal Competition and the Battle of the Bands. The Vocal Competition is open to performers in grades K-12 and the Battle of the Bands is open to musicians age 21 and under. 

There are just a few more days remaining to share your thoughts about Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival in an online survey that’s been available this month, to gather information that will help shape the future of the festival.

There are just eight days left for children and teens to write an essay for the City’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay Contest—submissions are due by Saturday, Jan. 31.

The deadline for the City’s annual photo contest has been extended to Monday, Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. due to the winter weather forecast for this weekend. 

The City’s annual photo contest is in progress and accepting entries through Sunday, Jan. 25. Sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department, the contest is open to both residents and nonresidents, and is divided into three competition groups (Student, Amateur Adult and Proficient Adult). Costs are $5 per entry for students and $10 per entry for amateur and proficient adults.
