The Richardson Mayor’s Summer Internship Program is accepting student applications through Feb. 17. Now in its sixth year, the program immerses incoming high school seniors into the world of professional work with job skills training and summer internships at businesses, nonprofits and government agencies.

To be eligible, students must meet several qualifications including:

  • Live in Richardson or attend RISD
  • Have at least a 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 point scale)
  • Be at least 16 years old and able to work in the US by June 1, 2023
  • Be available the mornings of Feb. 25 or March 4 for workforce skills training
  • Be available April 19 for a job fair and, if hired, June 1-2 for work-readiness training and June 5-Aug. 4 for the internship

Businesses are also being recruited to host interns and/or sponsor an intern at a nonprofit organization.
