Altrusa International of Richardson has announced the opening of its annual scholarship program for high school seniors planning to attend universities/colleges, community colleges or vocational training programs. Applicants must reside in the City of Richardson or attend an RISD school, and recipients will be selected based on scholastic achievement, financial need, community volunteerism, extracurricular activities and a short essay. Scholarships must be used for the next school year and will be sent directly to the school.

Applications will be available online beginning Friday, Jan. 14 and are due Feb. 18 at 4 p.m.

Richardson’s Altrusa International, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) organization that provides yearly support to many local agencies and programs, including the Richardson Public Library, Richardson Animal Shelter and Network of Community Ministries. It also helps make the Richardson Reads One Book event possible.
