Richardson’s Huffhines and Heights Recreation Centers have suspended services through March 27 in order to help limit the spread of COVID-19.

Recreation staff will spend the next several days deep cleaning both facilities and planning for future events and programs.

In the meantime, there are plenty of things to do outdoors.  The City of Richardson has 38 parks and 60 miles of trails for people to enjoy.  Families can participate in several activities while visiting local parks including exercise, reading a good book or enjoying public art.

“We encourage people at this time to get out and enjoy the parks and trails. Look for things in nature that you never thought to look at it or maybe look at some of the public art on display,” said Lori Smeby, director of Parks and Recreation Department.
