The City of Richardson is pleased to announce that Celestica, a global leader in data center infrastructure and advanced technology solutions, will expand its operations at 2801 Telecom Parkway, reinforcing the city’s position as a hub for advanced manufacturing and technology-based employment.
The project includes the renewal of their lease of two existing buildings and a new lease for a 343,000-square foot building currently under construction, totaling approximately 1 million square feet that Celestica will occupy through 2036. The expanded campus will support Celestica’s growing advanced manufacturing operations and long-term presence in the community.
“Celestica’s decision to expand its long-term presence in Richardson speaks to the strength of our business climate, our skilled workforce and our ability to support advanced technology companies as they grow,” said Richardson City Manager Don Magner. “This project represents exactly the kind of investment Richardson works to attract: one that creates quality jobs, strengthens our tax base and positions our community for continued success in the innovation economy.”
Celestica relocated to Richardson in 2022 and has experienced rapid growth since that time. This expansion builds on Richardson’s strengths, including access to a highly skilled workforce, a strategic location within the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, proximity to key educational partners such as The University of Texas at Dallas, and regional connectivity through DART bus and rail service, with direct access to DFW International Airport.
Celestica’s Expansion Investment
As part of the project, Celestica will make an estimated $300 million capital investment over the next two years to support tenant improvements and the addition of new equipment across the campus.
The expansion is expected to retain nearly 400 existing jobs and create nearly 2,300 new permanent positions over the next two years, significantly strengthening Richardson’s advanced manufacturing workforce and supporting the creation of high-tech jobs in the region.
“This expansion is a milestone in Celestica’s growth strategy, allowing us to scale our advanced technology and manufacturing capabilities,” said Yann Etienvre, Chief Operations Officer, Celestica. “By building out a one-million-square-foot campus, we are leveraging Richardson’s tech-forward infrastructure and top-tier talent to fuel innovation and support our customers’ most complex needs.”
Richardson’s Economic Development Support
To support the expansion, the City of Richardson has approved a $3 million tenant improvement grant, structured around Celestica’s commitments to long-term occupancy, capital investment plans, and job creation.
Investment Continues Success of Richardson’s Redevelopment Strategy
Celestica’s expansion represents a significant redevelopment milestone for the former Fujitsu campus at 2801 Telecom Parkway, which is being repositioned to support a new generation of advanced manufacturing and technology users. Fujitsu, now operating as 1Finity Americas, Inc., relocated its North American headquarters in 2025 to Galatyn Commons, another Richardson office campus that has recently experienced substantial corporate leasing activity and reinvestment. Celestica’s occupancy continues the evolution of the former campus while reinforcing Richardson’s ability to adapt existing corporate properties to meet changing industry demands and attract long-term investment.
