6:30-8:30 p.m. (Regular exhibit hours: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays 11 a.m.-4 p.m.; Thursdays and Fridays 1-6 p.m., through Oct. 5) 

“Book Art,” curated by Ruth Lingen and Marilyn Waligore, features the work of artists who investigate the potential of the book as art. “Snapshot: Works by UTD Photo Faculty,” curated by Danielle Avram, surveys the work produced by UT Dallas’ diverse photography faculty. Explore both at a free come-and-go reception tonight featuring light bites and beverages.

“Audiovisual Translation: How Movies and TV Get Subtitled and Dubbed”

Guest speaker is Katrina Leonoudakis, a localization producer with an MA in Translation from Kent State University and over 10 years of experience in subtitling and dubbing television and movie projects. Her work has been showcased on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Funimation and Crunchyroll. She is passionate about translation theory and using applied linguistics to solve challenges in audiovisual translation. Event link: click here
