The “one-stop shop” event aims to fill 25 critical day camp counselor positions to support the City’s summer programming.
The City of Richardson’s Parks and Recreation Department is preparing for a fun-filled summer and is seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to serve as day camp counselors. A special “one-stop shop” hiring event will be held Saturday, April 19 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at Heights Recreation Center, 711 W. Arapaho Rd.
This event is designed to streamline the hiring process. Applicants will be interviewed on-site and, if selected, can immediately move forward with the necessary next steps to complete with Human Resources staff.
Each year, the success of Richardson’s summer programs depends on the dedication and energy of its seasonal personnel. Day camp counselors play an essential role in making the City’s summer activities a reality. From leading games and sports to supervising field trips and arts and crafts, counselors help create safe, memorable experiences for hundreds of children in the community. These positions are not only vital to program operations, they also help shape a positive and engaging environment where kids can learn, grow, and have fun all summer long.
Day camp counselors will work under the direct supervision of a camp director and should be prepared to lead or assist with a variety of activities including sports, games, field trips, arts and crafts, music, and swimming. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and have reliable transportation. CPR and first-aid certification are required and may be obtained during the job orientation.
