Altrusa International of Richardson and its Kindness Action Network is inviting the community to join them Saturday, April 5 in doing acts of kindness, part of its annual Kindness Weekend which started today, April 4. You can choose to do your own activities in the community or participate at activity stations that will be set up at Friends Place on Saturday morning. They include:
- Packing care boxes for deployed military personnel (project of Blue Star Mothers of America)
- Preparing snack bags for New Friends New Life
- Cutting material for menstrual kits for Third World countries (project of Days for Girls)
- Making friendship bracelets for residents of Ability House
- Filling bags with reading and activity materials (benefits RISD Intake Center)
- Making “snuffle mats” from fleece material (benefits the dogs of Patriot Paws)
- Assemble “birthday in a bag” items for clients of Hope’s Door New Beginnings Center
Individuals/organizations organizing their own kindness activities are encouraged to log them at the Altrusa website and share on social media.
