The Galen College of Nursing is planning to expand its capacity in Richardson after receiving approval by the Richardson City Council Monday for a zoning change via Special Permit. The college, an affiliate of Medical City Healthcare, officially opened in May 2024 at 1301 W. President George Bush Hwy. with 40,000 square feet of leased space (accommodating 300 students); the Special Permit will allow the college to lease additional space within the building to accommodate an additional 150 students.
The permit approval is in line with the City’s economic development goals to fill vacant office space and build a diverse and resilient economy in Richardson through business retention and expansion.
