Samples tested overnight show public water supply is safe for human consumption with no concerns for contamination.
(Richardson, Texas) – On Wednesday, November 6, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required the City of Richardson, PWS 0570015, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from the City of Richardson was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or other human consumption purposes.
The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by the City used for drinking and human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of today, November 8, 2024.
“I would like to thank the community for its support, patience, and understanding on behalf of our water crews and all the additional teams brought in to assist in responding to this incident,” said Richardson City Manager Don Magner. “We are committed to conducting a thorough after action review to identify any improvements that will help us avoid and prevent similar issues in the future.”
With the lifting of the boil water notice, operations of the Water Distribution Center have ended.
