The City Council approved $375,000 in grants for 22 area cultural and arts-related organizations at Monday’s City Council meeting, as recommended by the City’s Cultural Arts Commission. The grants, funded by the Hotel/Motel Tax Fund, will assist the organizations with operating expenses and regular programming for the 2024-25 fiscal year.

The recipients span several arts genres including choral music, orchestral music, theatrical productions, ballets, literature and visual arts. New recipients this year (i.e. new to Cultural Arts Commission funding) are the Classics Theatre Project, OutLoud Dallas and VM Music Company. The Cultural Arts Commission reviews arts grant applications each year from nonprofit organizations that serve the public in Richardson, in alignment with the City’s Cultural Arts Master Plan.
