Construction on the Animal Shelter’s 44 dog kennels is now complete. Crews wrapped up the third and final phase of the project in September.

The renovations, funded in part through the 2015 Bond Program, created a quieter and safer environment for the dogs housed at the Shelter. The upgrades included the removal of the chain link kennel enclosures, installing a new epoxy floor coating system, new acoustic panels and new modern kennel enclosures.

“It’s going to decrease the spread of illness and disease in the Shelter since there are hard panels,” Animal Services Manager Noura Jammal said. “The floors are installed in a way that food is not going to be transmitted underneath the kennels.”

Photos of adoptable pets are available online and on the Shelter’s social media pages.
