The Rich-Tone Chorus, aka “The Rich-Tones,” claimed first-place honors in the 2022 Sweet Adelines International (SAI) Competition held recently in Phoenix, Ariz.. The win is the group’s sixth championship in SAI, one of the world’s largest singing organizations for women with a current membership of 21,000. The Rich-Tone Chorus includes more than 100 women and is funded in part by a grant from the Richardson Cultural Arts Commission,
Rich-Tone Master Director Dale Syverson led the chorus at the competition in performing six selections ranging from ballads to upbeat contemporary tunes, including a rendition of “Uptown Funk.” The chorus performed their contest numbers at a public concert in Richardson prior to attending the 2022 competition.
