Earlier this week, the City Council approved the City’s continued partnership in the Household Hazardous Waste Network (HHWN). Residents of the 16 cities in the HHWN have access to the Dallas County Home Chemical Collection Center, 11234 Plano Rd., Dallas (just two miles from Richardson city limits), which provides a convenient, cost-efficient solution for recycling small electronics and disposing of household hazardous waste such as paint, gasoline, oil filters and pesticides, i.e. items that cannot be set out for City Solid Waste crews to collect. The Center accepts these items from member city residents at no charge (residents of all other cities must pay a minimum $95 fee). For a list of items accepted, click here.
Regular hours are:
- Tuesdays 9 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
- Wednesdays and Thursdays 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
- 2nd and 4th Saturdays 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Be sure to bring a driver’s license and a utility bill as proof of residency in a participating city.
