The Richardson Police Department will host a prescription and over-the-counter drug take-back April 27 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. as part of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. Unused or expired pharmaceuticals may be dropped off at the Police Substation parking lot, 2003 E. Renner Rd. There is no charge for this service.
Solid dosage pharmaceutical products and liquids in consumer containers are accepted. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain tightly sealed in their original container. Intravenous solutions and syringes will not be accepted due to potential hazard posed by blood-borne pathogens.
